About Dr. Hemstreet
Dr. Hemstreet was born and raised in Florida, the youngest of six children. He attended Florida State University and graduated from N.C. State University with a B.S. in Zoology. Prior to attending veterinary school, he was employed for four years in the Dept. of Physiology at Duke University in the oxygen transport laboratory working with a group developing critical care monitors.
Dr. Hemstreet graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at N.C. State University in 1987 and has been in private practice in the Charlotte area since that time.
He has a special interest in feline thyroid disease and is the provider of radioactive iodine therapy for this common condition in cats through the T-4 Paws Thyroid Treatment Center at LakeCross Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Hemstreet is married to Dr. Donna Warren and they have two sons. In his spare time, he likes to fish, hike, camp, read and is Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 10.
Dr. Hemstreet is retiring on May 25. He's looking forward to spending more time with his family, heading to the lake to fish and catching up on some reading. We wish him the very best. He'll be missed by his many clients and the team at LakeCross Veterinary Hospital.
