Dr. Lauren Kappers
As a vet, Dr. Lauren Kappers loves working with her furry patients at our Huntersville veterinary hospital, and has a keen interest in dermatological conditions in pets.
About Dr. Kappers
Dr. Kappers was born in Ohio and grew up in Winter Haven, Florida. She first came to Charlotte to attend Queens College. After graduating from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999, she was eager to return to Charlotte to begin her career.
At Monroe Road Animal Hospital, she worked alongside Dr. Hemstreet before he went on to establish LakeCross Veterinary with his wife Dr. Warren. After being blessed with Dr. Hemstreet’s mentoring as a new graduate, she is excited to now be working for him all these years later. While she provides overall veterinary care, helping pets with dermatologic issues are a particular interest to Dr. Kappers.
She loves family time with her husband, John, and her two young children, Regan and Elliott. Her four-legged family includes a hound mix named Ella, and Maui the cat. She is an avid reader when she’s away from the office.
